Yichi has been honoured with the CSCB (Chinese Society for Cell Biology )–Promega Discover -Glo Innovation Fund at the Discover Glo Explorer level. This award recognises his 2023 ACS Central Science paper describing a novel genetically encoded ERK bioluminescent indicator for visualising MEK‑ERK pathway inhibitors in the brain of preclinical animal models. The Fund is established to highlight researcher's achievements and to encourage further innovation in bioluminescent imaging technologies. Link

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Qihui Wan (Ph.D., Genetics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2018–2025) to our lab as a post-doctoral scholar.
Dr. Wan is a talented plant molecular biologist whose latest paper in Cell Reports shows that when leaves are detached and exposed to stress, two key plant hormones team up to help the leaves regrow roots. Link
Congratulations to Dr. Wan, and we look forward to her fresh perspective boosting our team’s research.

A project co-led by Yichi has been published in Scientific Reports. Building on our 2023 Nat. Chem. Biol. publication, this study presents an optimized formulation of the NanoLuc substrate cephalofurimazine-9 (CFz9) that enables high-dose delivery, enhanced in vivo brightness (including brain imaging), and reduced toxicity. We congratulate the entire team for developing this novel technique, and are pleased that Promega is now working to commercialize the improved substrate. Link

A project co-led by Yichi has been published in Nature Chemical Biology. Building upon Yichi's 2023 work in ACS Central Science, this study introduces a novel Akt bioluminescent indicator for visualizing Akt inhibitors and degraders in living animals. Congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding dedication in developing this innovative technique, which marks a significant advancement in drug development. Link
